2015 Men of Faith Ministry Report

Ministry contact information:  Doug Dempsey

Description of the ministry:  Men of Faith is a fraternity of Christian men and men seeking Jesus Christ who provide fellowship to each other, service to Faith EPC Church and its membership, and an outreach to the community and youth.  Men of Faith understand that men, women, and youth need a positive Christian male influence in order for them to emerge as Christian husbands and fathers, wives and mothers, brothers and sisters, and members and leaders of the community.  Our guiding Bible verse is PSALM 68:5 which reads, "A father to the fatherless, defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.

Events:

Men with Toolbelts:  Established to help others within FEPC with home, car, and computer repairs etc. Don Nelson is the leader for this group.

Church Work Day:  Many volunteers helped paint, pressure wash, trim trees, plant flowers, fix projects, replace lights, etc. to help keep God's Church in good condition.

Annual Easter Pancake Breakfast:  Men came in early to cook pancakes for the annual Easter breakfast.

Easter Sunrise Service:  Men came in at 5:45 am to set up and take down chairs for Easter Sunrise Service.

Joseph's House:  Men have volunteered many hours to help rebuild and remodel the buildings at Joseph's house which will be a Brooksville resource center for the homeless within our community.  Contacts are Tom Brady @ 352-293-6612,

Testimony:  Influenced by Psalm 68:5 which reads, "A father to the fatherless, defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling, the Men of Faith was officially established in the fall of 2006.  We are guided by God.  We do not have a leader as each man will lead a task based on how they are being led by the Holy Spirit.  We try to be financially self-sufficient as not to be a drain on church funds.  All men with the FEPC community are considered Men of Faith.  The Men of Faith are frequently called upon to assist with activities in the church and community.  Men's breakfasts are every Saturday at 8:00 am at Luigi's Restaurant.  Send email to dempsey5@bellsouth.net to be added to contact list.

Goals for 2016:  The Men of Faith will continue to be a source of fellowship and volunteerism within the church and community.  We desire to add men of all ages to our phone and email contact lists so we may enhance our service to our neighbors in Christ.  Some projects we would like to have greater assistance with are the completion of Joseph's House, Men with Toolbelts, along with any other opportunity that may present itself.  We will continue to carry out our annual events.
